Both the collar and cuffs are lined with microfiber material for a soft feel against your skin. Built into the back of the shirt are two elasticised spandex straps that work to prevent billowing when riding while also pulling the shoulder gussets back into place when your arm aren't stretched out reaching for the controls. For added manoeuvrability on the bike the incorporated expandable shoulder gussets provide great freedom of movement without the sleeves riding up your arms. The full mesh liner works well to draw heat and moisture away from your body while also preventing the shirt from sticking to your skin or t-shirt.
Setting this flannel moto shirt apart from others is the embossed Black 9™ metal snaps that are spring loaded to prevent the shirt from popping open unexpectedly. With only a subtle Speed and Strength black embroidered logo across the back of the shoulders and a few small branding tags this shirt looks as tough as it is.
The Black 9™ Reinforced Moto Shirt is made with genuine DuPont™ Kevlar® Fiber thread panels at the shoulders and elbows that are reinforced stitched at the critical impact areas.

A great riding shirt
I waited some time before commenting because I wanted to try it out in varying circumstances.
I have now worn the shirt on hot days of 33degree and chilly day with cold winds. At highway speed I was quite comfortable in all the conditions. On the chilly day all I wore was a vest over the shirt. Hot days get a bit uncomfortable at 60kmh. But in all circumstances far more comfortable than a jacket.
Would I buy another? Heck yeah! I have no hesitation in recommending this product. All my jackets are now gathering dust!
I would advise though to choose size carefully, it is a very generous fit.

Speed and Strength Black 9 Reinforced Moto Shirt
This shirt is amazing. So comfortable for all day riding. I wear it with a leather vest most of the time and have peace of mind that all I have protection in all the right places should the worst happen. I am surprised how little wind gets through it, it is a remarkable riding shirt. Wore it in 41 degree heat recently for a good few hours, the same ride in a leather jacket would have been horrendous. Thanks too, for the super fast service in getting it out to me so quickly. A first time customer who will be a regular...thank you!!

Possible to get this item without the embroidery ("speed and strength") on the back?

No. We don't sell the Speed and Strength Black 9 Shirts without the embroidery. The embroidery isn't that noticeable and blends into the shirt fabric nicely without being to loud.

is there any internal pockets??? preferably with zippers/Velcro for phone and wallet ect

Sorry Shawn, there are no internal pockets on the Black 9 Moto Shirts. It's just fully lined with the sports mesh lining for comfort. You only get the two external breast pockets that are secured with a spring loaded button snap.

does the shirt have places in the elbow and shoulders where I can insert armour?

No, the Speed and Strength Black 9 shirt doesn't have armour or pockets to retro fit armour. We do have the Speed and Strength Rust and Redemption shirt that does come with removable shoulder, elbow and back armour which might interest you.

what are the sizing's like, if I go to a shop and grab a shirt that is xxl will a xxl in this brand be the same. just trying to figure out how to order the correct size.

Hi Tony, The kevlar moto shirts are true to size. I usually take a medium in every other shirt and when I tried on the medium in the moto shirt it fit perfect. So if you're an XXL grab an XXL in the moto shirt.
