was $279.95 now $234.95Since 2011, Merlin have been a leading brand producing protective motorcycle gear. In 2019, Route one jeans achieved offical accreditation as an offically recognised and licensed manufacture of protective motorcycle denim by Dupont™.
Further to achieving DuPont accreditation, all Route One jeans by Merlin from 2019 onwards have been crafted using only the dinest denims, accessories and trims to meet or exceed the new CE Standard EN 17092. Merlin is a brand that is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with in the motorcycle apparel industry in Australia. Now that CE-Certification has been extended to garments as a whole, not just the incorporated armour, Merlin has responded with a new range of fully CE-Approved apparel.
So, what does all this mean for Australian motorcyclists? Well, basically CE-Certification assesses each garment using a cross section of three tests.
Impact protectors reduce the energy transferred during an impact. The protectors absorb energy in the most exposed areas: the elbows, shoulders, hips and knees. The CE-Certification test also ensures the protectors stay in place in a crash scenario.
An abrasion resistance test measures how long the material(s) used in a motorcycle garment can withstand a slide along a road before being worn away. The CE-Certification for abrasion resistance is scored according to known levels of impact-abrasion risk for different zones of the body and then weighted according to the level of risk.
A burst resistance test measures the level to which a garment remains intact in a crash. CE-Certification scores for burst resistance are biased towards the importance of good quality seams, which endure greater loads in a crash than other areas of a garment.
In summary, this new CE-Certification is designed to give motorcyclists peace of mind when buying apparel – if it’s CE-Certified apparel, it’s been proven to conform to an internationally recognised safety standard and will protect riders in the event of a crash.

How To Get Your Measurments
Chest (a): Measure the widest part of your chest, under your armpits and around you back. Be sure that your armsare resting at your side.
Waist (b): Measure around your natural waistline, around the top of the hip bones, inline with the navel while keeping the measuring tape parallel to the ground.
Hips (c): Measure the circumference, from pelvic bone to pelvic bone, at the widest part of your hips below the waist.
Back Length (d): Measured vertically from the bottom of the collar seam to the bottom of the garment.
Sleeve Length (e): Measure from the shoulder seam, down the outside of the arm, over your elbow, ending at your wrist.
Shoulder Width (f): Measure horizontally from left shoulder seam to right shoulder seam across the back.
